The ‘My Wild Heart Bleeds: 150 Years of Sheridan Le Fanu’s ‘Carmilla” conference is run by Romancing the Gothic. Romancing the Gothic is a free education project which puts on weekly classes involving (more or less tangentially!) the Gothic, horror, folklore and the supernatural. Romancing the Gothic is run by Dr Sam Hirst, a lecturer in English literature at the University of Liverpool and lecturer in Nineteenth Century literature at Oxford Brookes.
